Aquacon SeriesInstallation Instructions, Application ToolsAmphenolAerospaceMoldingSuggested method of assembly to cable for Aquacon plugs andcable connecting receptacles is molding. The mold sealingdiameter has been designed to use a common mold for bothplug and receptacle in a given shell size.SealingIn a mated condition, the red visual matingindicator band must be fully concealed bythe plug coupling nut to assure to reliable, pressure rated sealed joint. Failure to fullytighten the coupling nut may allow leakagethrough the main joint seal. The red visualmating indicator is so located that only a fulland proper mating of the plug and receptaclewill cause the indicator to be fully hidden by theplug coupling nut.Mounting SurfacesRMOUNTING CUTOUTSRear mount jam nutBShellSizeB+.010–.000Red Visual MatingIndicator BandThe integrity of an “O” ring hydrostatic shell is dependent uponthe flatness of the surface on which the receptacle is mounted.Surface finishes of 23 microns or less are recommended for “O”ring sealing areas when jam nut or through bulkheadreceptacles are mounted.R+.010–.0008 .705 .75910 .830 .88412 .955 1.00714 1.080 1.13416 1.205 1.25918 1.330 1.38420 1.455 1.50722 1.580 1.63424 1.705 1.759Receptacle “O” Ring Racking RequirementsARP 568 Uniform Dash NumberShellSizeMain JointSealShell to MountingSurface SealJam Nut8 ARP-014 ARP-01910 ARP-016 ARP-02112 ARP-018 ARP-02314 ARP-020 ARP-02516 ARP-022 ARP-02718 ARP-024 ARP-02920 ARP-026 ARP-03022 ARP-028 ARP-03124 ARP-029 ARP-032Conversion TableSalt Water Depth to Hydrostatic PressureSalt-WaterDepth inFeetPounds perSq.
