Note <strong>the</strong> change in coloration of <strong>the</strong>evacuation zone. This evacuation scenario is now ready for animation. To begin <strong>the</strong> animation, select <strong>the</strong>“Animate” box at <strong>the</strong> top of <strong>the</strong> screen. Doing so will illustrate <strong>the</strong> evacuation in a loop on <strong>the</strong> map.Figure 35.2 -- Scenario <strong>Simulation</strong> CompleteAs <strong>the</strong> animation progresses towards completion, census blocks become lighter in hue to a greyish whiteindicating all evacuees have exited a given area (Figure 36). Also note <strong>the</strong> variations in sizes of <strong>the</strong>endpoint assignments or yellow circles around <strong>the</strong> perimeter of <strong>the</strong> evacuation zone. The larger <strong>the</strong> circle,<strong>the</strong> higher <strong>the</strong> traffic count at those locations. As stated earlier, populations can be distributed toparticular endpoints by specifying a percentage of <strong>the</strong> population being routed to that endpoint. The24
