Access to the MUB Controlleris provided through the removablefront panel with a water-protected lock.The drive unit is mounted in the middle sectionof the housing. Both front panels haveremovable mounting plates for ease ofinstallation of card readers or smart cardaerials.TechnologyThe drive system incorporates a Magnetictorque motor with a 100% duty cycle andconstant torque output operating in conjunctionwith a single lever arm against theretractable panel. This produces a speedcontrolledmotion, and soft end positionapproach, with incorporated dynamic braking.The lever arm geometry can be adjustedto lock the panels in the closedposition, or alternatively, to allow thepanels to open after a specified force isapplied. In the event of a power failurethe panels may open automatically, but canbe specified to remain closed if requiredfor security reasons. Specified retractablebarrier models can be operated in eithernormally open or normally close mode.FeaturesThe heart of the barrier is the torque motorthat may be stalled in any position withoutbeing damaged. Limit switches and slipclutches are not required. This importantfeature eliminates initial setting up proceduresand further maintenance of mechanicalslip clutches. In case of attempted vandalism,or too much pressure on theretractable wings, a burst power settingcan be adjusted to protect the drive unitfrom damage. After such a situation, theretractable wing will automatically closeagain. This motor design provides a highlevel of safety, as constant torque outputcan be set low enough so as not to harmany person. The motor is continuouslypowered with a low current to provide asurrounding minimum temperature therebyproviding prevention against condensationand corrosion in cold, wet or humid installationenvironments.
