The port must beopen, and the client must have read access to the UNC location.During installation and configuration, you need to know the portnumber for MetaXpress PowerCore server-client communications andother settings. These settings are described in MetaXpress PowerCoreClient Settings on page 91.Installing the MetaXpress PowerCoreClient ApplicationTo install the MetaXpress PowerCore client application1. On the computer where you want to install the MetaXpressPowerCore client application, log in as administrator.2. If your MetaXpress PowerCore Software installation is on a CD,insert the CD into the computer’s CD-ROM drive. If theinstallation screen does not appear, go to the CD folder anddouble-click Autorun.exe.3. If you downloaded the MetaXpress PowerCore Softwareinstallation package, copy it to the client computer, double-clickthe self-extractor file to unzip it, and then double-clickAutorun.exe.The MetaXpress PowerCore installation screen appears.4. Click Install MetaXpress PowerCore Client.The installation starts.5. Follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the installation.During installation, the MetaXpress PowerCore Client servicestarts, and it appears on the Windows Services list. The clientuses this service to receive work units from the MetaXpressPowerCore server, and the service must be running for thecomputer to be recognized as a MetaXpress PowerCore client.The service starts automatically whenever the computer isrestarted.
