MDCStore Database and File ServerUpdates3IntroductionThe MDCStore database stores:• Images or the location of images acquired using ImageXpress ®imaging instruments.• The analysis and acquisition settings as well as the results of theanalysis of these images with MetaXpress ® Software applicationmodules and journals.• AcuityXpress Software data mining results.To use the MetaXpress ® PowerCore Software with the MDCStoredatabase, you must update the database schema as described in thissection. In addition, the MDCStore database should be running on anetworked computer. Molecular Devices recommends that you do notrun the MDCStore database on the computer that hosts the MetaXpressPowerCore server or MetaXpress PowerCore client. For additionalinformation, see Computer and Server Specifications for AcuityXpressor MetaXpress Offline Analysis.If you are using an older version of the MDC File Server application,update that application as described in this section.CAUTION! To get the best performance from the MetaXpress PowerCoreSoftware, a database administrator, with the proper expertise, mustconfigure and optimize, or tune, your database for your facility. If youdo not have a database administrator, contact Molecular Devices for alist of consultants. In addition, the database-related information in thisdocument is provided for guidance only.
