Problem description, motivation and background (the heading couldbe ”Overview”, ”Problem”, ”Motivation and background” etc.)2. Results and contributions (what was done, what was new)3. Organization (the chapters)5.1.3 Main chaptersUsually 4-5 chapters (in addition to Introduction and Conclusions). A goodidea is to begin from background theory or related research.5.1.4 ConclusionsJust 1-3 pages!• Summarize the main results in a general level.• Tell what was your own conctribution and what was based on othersources.• Possibly also critics (e.g. limitations), alternative approaches, topics forfuture research.• No more new results and seldomly any references (at most for alterantive,unmentioned approaches)5.1.5 References• A rule of thumb: at least 20 references, but no more than 50. 30-35 isoften the ideal.• The number of references depends on the topic. More references arerequired in a literature review than in empirical research or an “applicationreport”.
