The year 1923-] 924 has been one of the most successful, under the direc~tion of Misses Phillips and McKissick.Th e first play of the season was "The Charm School," given by the Scitam:lrd Club.Austin Bevans, a .!rood loc:>ld ng' automobile salesman, inherits a girls' school. Aft~rmuch argument with Mr. Johns. who has money invested in the scho:>l, he der:ides torndertak e the management of it , with the agreement that Miss Hayes, the principal,should retain her position, and that he should give l'P the schoell if any of the studentsfeU in love with him.He install s his friends, Tim and Jim Simpkins, the twins : David Mackenzie, a la"lst.udent. and Georg'e Boyd, an accountant, as teachers. His idea is to teach the girlscharm instead of the usual studies.Before he can prove his success as the head of a girls' school.
