Where to positionExcess moisture will travelthroughout your home, inthe same way that cookingsmells waft to every room inthe house. For this reason,the dehumidifier should bepositioned, so that it c<strong>and</strong>raw this moist air towards itfrom all over the home.Alternatively, if you have aserious problem in onearea you can begin bypositioning the dehumidifierclose to this area <strong>and</strong> latermoving it to a more centralpoint.When positioning thedehumidifier, ensure that itis placed on a level surface<strong>and</strong> that there is aminimum of 10 cm (4") ofspace on either side of theunit to allow <strong>for</strong> efficientairflow.This dehumidifier is fittedwith castors <strong>for</strong> extramobility, if you move theunit, it should first beswitched off <strong>and</strong> the watertank emptied.We do not recommend theuse of an extension lead, soplease try to ensure that theunit is sufficiently close to afixed mains socket. If it isnecessary to use amextension lead, pleaseensure the diameter of thewires of the cable is at least1 mm 2 .When the dehumidifier is inoperation, outside doors<strong>and</strong> windows should beclosed when necessary <strong>for</strong>most efficient use .2


Be<strong>for</strong>e useCaution!• Always keep the unit in vertical position.• Leave the unit to st<strong>and</strong> <strong>for</strong> one hour be<strong>for</strong>e connecting to the mains supplyafter transport or when it has been tilted (e.g. during cleaning).• Keep all <strong>for</strong>eign objects away from the air intake or output openings.• The mains supply must con<strong>for</strong>m to the specification shown on the rating plateat the back of the unit.• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an approved servicerepresentative or a similar qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.• Never use the plug to start <strong>and</strong> stop the unit. Always use switch on the controlpanel.• Be<strong>for</strong>e moving the unit, first switch off, then unplug <strong>and</strong> empty the water tank.• Don't use bug sprays or other flammable cleaners on the unit.• Never pour or spray water over the unit.• THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE BY PERSONS (INCLUDING CHILDREN)WITH REDUCED PHYSICAL , SENSORY OR MENTAL CAPABILITIES, OR LACK OFEXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE , UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN SUPERVISIONOR INSTRUCTION CONCERNING USE OF THE APPLIANCE BY A PERSONRESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SAFETY. DrainageWhile the water tank is full, the compressor will stop <strong>for</strong> self-protection <strong>and</strong>:water full indicator will turn into red.• The water full indicator will turn into red.• The unit will buzz. * For stopping the buzz, you may press the ON/OFF button toturn off the unitTo move the water tank, pull it out squarely from the unit by using the h<strong>and</strong>le atthe water tank. (FIG.1)After empting the water tank, place the water tank into space. Make sure it isproperly positioned, in order <strong>for</strong> the 'water full' sign to go out <strong>and</strong> yourdehumidifier is operating. Continuous drainageWhen the dehumidifier is operated at very high humidity levels, the water tank willrequire more frequent drainage. In this situation, it may be more convenient to setthe unit up <strong>for</strong> continuous drainage with the following procedures:1. Connect the drain hole with a water tube of inner diameter 12mm. (FIG.3) *Please note the water tube is not supplied with the unit.2. Ensure the water will always drain away freely <strong>and</strong> the tube will remain in rightplace.* Note! In very cold weather conditions, precautions should be taken toprevent the water tube from freeing.FIG. 37


MaintenanceAlways unplug the unit from the mains be<strong>for</strong>e carrying out any maintenanceor cleaning of the unit.CLEANING THE BODYUse soft cloth to wipe the unit clean.Don't ever use volatile chemicals, gasoline, detergents, chemically treatedclothes, or other cleansing solutions. These all could possibly hurt the cabinet.CLEANING THE AIR FILTER• Remove the filter from theunit back. (FIG. 4)• For washable filter-Use avacuum cleaner or tap thefilter lightly <strong>for</strong> easycleaning. If the filter isparticularly dirty, use warmwater with a small amountof medium strength. (FIG.5)FIG.4• Make sure the filter is completely dry be<strong>for</strong>e replacing.• Do not expose the filter to sunlight.FIG. 58


• For active carbon filter - This filter is not washable. Its life span is variable <strong>and</strong>depends on the ambient conditions where the appliance is used. The filtershould be checked periodically (about every 6 months) <strong>and</strong> replaced ifnecessary.STORAGEIf not use the unit <strong>for</strong> an extended period of time. Please:• Turing the unit off, unplug <strong>and</strong> tidy AC cord.• Completely empty the water tank <strong>and</strong> wipe it clean.• Put the AC cord into the empty water tank (FIG.7) <strong>and</strong> then put pack thewater tank into the unit.• Cover the unit <strong>and</strong> store where it will not receive direct sunlight.9


Trouble shootingTHE UNIT DOES NOT OPERATE:• Is the unit plugged in?• Is the house electricity on?• Is the room temperature below 5 o C or above 35 o C? If so, then it isout of the working range of the unit.• Ensure the ON/OFF switch is turned on.• Check the water tank is positioned properly in the unit <strong>and</strong> it is not full.• Make sure the air inlet <strong>and</strong> outlet are not obstructed.THE UNIT SEEMS TO DO NOTHING:• Is the filter dusty, contaminated ?• Is the air intake or outlet blocked up?• Is the room humidity already quite low?THE UNIT SEEMS TO DO LITTLE:• Are too many windows or doors open?• Is there something in the room producing lots of humidity?THE UNIT IS TOO NOISY:• Check whether the unit is sitting on a level surface.THE UNIT IS LEAKING:• Make sure the unit is in good shape.• If you are not using continuous drainage, make sure the rubber plug(at the bottom of the unit) is in its position,10

连 续 排 水当 除 湿 机 在 极 潮 湿 环 境 下 操 作 时 , 水 箱 需 要 更 濒 密 排 水 , 这 个 情 况 适 宜 依据 下 列 方 法 进 行 连 续 排 水 :1. 将 一 条 内 径 ∮12MM 的 水 管 连 接 排 水 孔 。( 图 3)* 此 水 管 不 随 机 附 送 。2. 请 确 保 排 水 无 碍 且 水 管 亦 无 移 位 。 在 极 寒 天 气 下 , 请 做 好 预 防 水 管 结冰 的 措 施 。图 37
