Violence against women takes many differentforms in any one culture and from culture to culture but <strong>is</strong>rooted in the same causes. Drawing from several perspectives,th<strong>is</strong> course <strong>is</strong> a general survey of research andtheory in the area of violence against women. Primary aimsinclude examining the causes, consequences, and preventionsof violence against women in the United States andaround the world.
