The CGSIC may create standing subcommittees, ad hoc subcommittees, or specialworking groups to identify specific areas <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> civil GPS user needs and facilitate technicalinformati<strong>on</strong> exchange. The following standing subcommittees have been established:• Internati<strong>on</strong>al Subcommittee (ISC);• Timing Informati<strong>on</strong> Subcommittee (TISC); and• United States States and Localities Subcommittee (SFSC).209. The Internati<strong>on</strong>al Subcommittee <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>ficers c<strong>on</strong>sists <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> a Chair, Regi<strong>on</strong>al Vice-Chairs andrepresentatives from industry, government, and academia. Country points <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>tact areappointed to co-ordinate activities in a country.210. Standing committee chairs will be elected by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> subcommittee members for a two-yearterm. Electi<strong>on</strong>s will be held in c<strong>on</strong>juncti<strong>on</strong> with a general meeting.211. The CGSIC is open to any<strong>on</strong>e with an interest in GPS. It is open to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> GPS usercommunity worldwide. The CGSIC was chartered by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> DOT POS/NAV Executive Committee and interfaceswith <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Office <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Assistant Secretary for Transportati<strong>on</strong> Policy, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> United States CoastGuard's Operati<strong>on</strong>s Policy Directorate, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> DOT POS/NAV Executive Committee, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>Interagency GPS Executive Board (IGEB) Executive Secretariat, and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> GPS InteragencyAdvisory Council (GIAC).Administrative guidelines214. The administrative guidelines for <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> CGSIC are:• The Committee will meet as <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>ten as needed, but not less than annually. The date, time,and locati<strong>on</strong> will be announced at least two m<strong>on</strong>ths before each meeting;• A Summary Record <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> each meeting should be mailed to members as so<strong>on</strong> as possibleafter <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> meeting <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> United States Coast Guard's Navigati<strong>on</strong> Center's Website;• Attendance is open to any<strong>on</strong>e with a need to exchange informati<strong>on</strong> or provide inputregarding civil GPS requirements, both domestic and internati<strong>on</strong>al; and39
