Also, from the data, it is not possible to know the sequence of events, e.g., whethercondom use predates or postdates <strong>HIV</strong> transmission.Among women, results show a tendency for <strong>HIV</strong> prevalence to be lower for those whoinitiated sex at a later age. <strong>HIV</strong> prevalence is highest among women who first had sex before age 16(8 percent) <strong>and</strong> it decreases to 6 percent among women who delayed sex until age 20 or later.
