OverviewPALIGHT is a versatile, flexible, lightweight and durable foamedPVC sheet that is ideal for advertising and construction. It bringsquality convenience and versatility to a whole new level for awide range of applications.PALIGHT exhibits the whitest colour available, with a consistentlysmooth and bright surface that is ideal for high quality displays.Tested and approved by most digital flatbed printermanufacturers, the material is easy to handle, cut and fabricateusing conventional tools and equipment, and can be printed, painted or laminated. The PALIGHT range offers standard matteor gloss finishes and is available in white and a wide range ofstandard and special designer colors.Key BenefitsConsistently smooth, flat surface for printing and laminationExcellent mechanical propertiesGood insulation and low heat transmissionEasy handling, cutting, fabrication and bondingLow water absorption (closed cell structure)Flammability - self extinguishingHigh chemical resistanceNon-toxicLightweight (half the weight of solid PVC sheet)The PALIGHT® Product LinePALIGHT® - Matte finish on both sides; available in whiteand other coloursPALIGHT® 2001 - Glossy hard surface on one side, availablein white and other coloursTypical ApplicationsAdvertising - Lightweight durable signs, displays, screen anddigitally printed items, exhibition stands.Construction - Industrial models, partitions, ducting, controlcabinets, lightweight structures for corrosive environments, wet or wash down wall finish.Industry - Control cabinets and panels, hygienic wall cladding, structures for corrosive environments, ducts, etc.Screen PrintingFlat, consistent surface is ideal for screen printing.Bright white colour enables printers to reproduce truecolours and achieve greater impact with white space.Suitable for use with aqueous and solvent inks.Low absorption of sheet surface provides excellent ink yield.Digital PrintingSpecially designed for digital flat bed printers.Combines consistent, flat surface with market-leadingthickness control.Handling with lint-free gloves during production andoptional packaging according to the printer's specificrequirements reduce risk of surface contamination and tominimise static.Suitable for use with UV curing and solvent-based digitalinks, and for heat drying when water-based inks are used.Bright white color retains superb whiteness after intense UVcuring.Photo Mounting - Highly suitable for photo mounting anddigital printing lamination due to:Flat and even surface that allows complete lamination.Impact strength and ductility that allows cutting byguillotine or knife.High rigidity enables the use of large sheets without theneed for support.PALIGHT and PALIGHT 2001 sheets are ideal for virtually anyapplication. In addition to these typical applications, otheruses are constantly being found. Imagination is the only limit.

All are especially easyto handle, transport and store, thanks to their exceptionallylight weight.Cutting - Easily cut using a cutting knife or a straight, finelyserrated blade mounted on a hand-saw, band saw, disc (circular)saw or jig-saw. As a rule, low cutting feed rates and high cuttingspeeds are recommended. In extreme cases, it is recommendedthat the cutting blades be cooled with compressed air.Drilling - Can be drilled using any conventional drill.Fastening - Can be screwed and bolted in place. Use of a largewasher is recommended, in order to distribute load on a widerarea.Printing - Suitable for use with all conventional and digitalprinting techniques. Sheets must be clean and dry beforeprinting.Adhesive Bonding - Supportsstandard formulations for PVC andmost solvent based adhesives. Formaximum structural bondingstrength, two-part adhesive kits arerecommended. Pressure-sensitiveself-adhering tapes or pads may beused for temporary repairs.Welding - Can be welded to eachother or to other rigid PVC sheetswith standard hot-air weldingequipment, or using the hot blademethod. The printed colors and the indicated PANTONE® and RAL designations are theclosest match. The indices are presented only to give an approximate indication. To view the exact color, please request a sample chip from your Palram distributor.

In addition, my continuingeducation, attendance at conferences, and participation on avariety of industry related committees has helped prepare mefor the challenges facing our Co-op.Candidate Statement: I’d like to begin by saying Lane Electricis in excellent shape. Our workforce is qualified and stable, ourrates are competitive, our financial condition is strong and ourdistribution system is robust.Last year, your board of directors secured a 20-year contractwith the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). This longtermagreement is very likely, the biggest, single most importantaccomplishment your board made in the last decade. As aresult, Lane Electric will continue providing you with reliableelectricity at affordable prices.Through the many visits I’ve had with many of you across ourservice area over the last seven years, I’ve gained a solid grassroots,down-home understanding of your needs and concerns.Affordable rates and renewable energy are important to youand they are important to me.I sit on the board of the Oregon Rural Electric CooperativeAssociation (ORECA) which represents the interests of allOregon co-op members with our elected officials at the stateand federal level. As an example, with ORECA’s help, legislation was passed making the theft of metals from utilitysubstations, distribution systems and storage yards a felony. As the Chair of Lane Electric’s Technology Committee, Isupported the research, selection, installation and deploymentof our Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System. OurAMI system allows us to read meters remotely, provide timelyand accurate information about your electricity use, reduce thelength of power outages and save money for our members. My wife Stephanie and I are the parents of twins, Hannah andJackson. Being members of Lane Electric is nothing new to theSeubert’s. It is from theseexperiences that I express concern as to how Lane Electric willdeal with future changes in sources of electrical energy.Whether our power comes from hydro, solar, wind or othernew sources, Lane Electric must strive to provide consistentquality and affordable service to its members. It is inevitablethat Lane Electric will face future changes to its sources ofenergy, and therefore, the Cooperative must insure that any andall such changes are made with thoughtful consideration of itsmembers.28 OCTOBER 2009 www.laneelectric.com
