And suddenly, in themiddle of the thundering noise, everything goessilent. These poles, culminates in Point Blank, herein a brilliant and impressive performance byKlangforum Wien together with the front line ofthe improvisational group Lokomotiv Konkret. The title bespeaks a confrontation that is alsodirect: no distance, the tones go straight to theirgoal. The same thing can be said of Music for DeadEuropeans, here in a dense and inspired interpretationby the Göteborg based Gageego ensemble(which also performs Sham Mayim onthis CD).PSCD 155Point Blank (2002-2003)Dror Feiler, saxophones: sopranino and contrabass,Tommy Björk, drums, percussions,Sören Runolf, el.guitar, Klang Forum Wien,Sylvain Cambreling, conductorSham Mayim (1995)Ensemble Gageego, B Tommy Andersson, conductorMusic for Dead Europeans (1995-1996)Ensemble Gageego, B Tommy Andersson, conductorKi (1998)The Stockholm Saxophone QuartetPhoto: Ann Iren Ødeby.STIM/Svensk Musik / Swedish Music Information Centre is concerned with the documentationand the spreading of information on contemporary Swedish music, and is financed bySTIM and the Swedish government.
