First-Class ComfortPassenger-friendliness is a standard feature ofthe FLEXITY 2 tram. The highlights include a 100 %low-floor design for easy access, wide double doors forfast passenger flow, maximized aisle width throughout,extra large windows, stop-request buttons accessiblefrom every seat, an improved HVAC system for morecomfortable conditions on board and a passengerinfotainment system with highly visible large-screendisplays. Add to that the ultra-smooth ride madepossible by conventional wheel-set bogies and yourpassengers can look forward to first-class conditionsin a FLEXITY 2 tram.Best-in-Class SafetySetting best-in-class standards in the sensitive area ofpassenger safety is a priority at Bombardier. The safetyrelevantfeatures in the FLEXITY 2 tram include almostany number of stanchions, handrails, grips, grab handlesand stop buttons, acoustic and optical warning systems,emergency intercom facilities at each door, a CCTVvideo surveillance system and accessibility aids such aswheelchair ramps and sliding steps.We improved the design of the sidewalls and articulationarea to maximize the aisle width throughout the vehicleand thus optimize passenger flow. That isour contribution to your savings.Excellent MaintainabilityWe tackled the maintainability issue at the design stageof the FLEXITY 2 tram because ease of maintenance iscrucial to operational efficiency. We started by minimizingthe number and complexity of the components. Weharmonized the regular maintenance intervals to facilitatefleet management and workshop planning. We reducedthe number of non-safety-relevant visual inspections toshorten the time a vehicle has to spend in the workshop.And last but far from least, we improved the diagnosticsystem by reserving the event monitor on the driver’soperating panel for data of relevance to the vehicle’soperation and storing all other data in the event log file. Atthe end of a working day, all the vehicle’s operational datacan thus be easily evaluated to provide you with valuableinformation on how system components have behaved.Energy-Saving TechnologiesOur commitment to sustainable mobility is reflected in theproactive implementation of technologies to save energyand reduce CO 2emissions. For you thatmeans significant savings.Saving You Time and MoneyIn designing the FLEXITY 2 tram, our priorities were directaccess for inspection, maintenance and service work, easyassembly and disassembly, and minimal effort in the eventof repairs. As a result, all system components have beendesigned with a view to simple accessibility.For example, all the operational equipment that needsroutinely checks is accessible from inside the tram – viainspection openings and covers that are almost invisiblyintegrated into the tram’s interior fittings – and the sandingequipment and wheel lubrication are easy to access fromthe side panels. Intelligent thinking at the design stagesaves time and money in your everyday operations.Always on call so you enjoy 24/7 supportSimplifying Material Supplies and Technical SupportAt the same time as launching the FLEXITY 2 tram, wehave also established a spare parts’ stock managementand technical support network. Sign a material supplyagreement with Bombardier and you are guaranteed globalprovision of consumables and exchange parts as well asprocurement of accident repair parts or parts damaged byvandalism at pre-determined fixed prices. Another benefitof centralized spare parts’ stock management is that partsare purchased from open sub-supplier markets via generalframework agreements. This covers consumables forpreventive and corrective maintenance as well as parts foraccident or vandalism repairs.14Easy accessibility through an intelligent panel designIn addition, we can also provide fleet managementassistance through a technical support agreement. Thisservice package includes implementation of a Bombardierstandard Global Maintenance Accord, reporting andanalysis of failures using the BOMBARDIER* FRACAS*system, integration of the analysis findings, optimizationof your maintenance and fleet operation plans, on-goingtechnical assistance for your operation management staffand technical assistance in the event of major damagecaused by an accident or vandalism.
