The award levels for the three types of scholarships<br />

are as follows:<br />

�� Florida Academic Scholars Award—An award<br />

equal to the amount required to pay tuition, fees<br />

and $600 annually (prorated if part time) for<br />

college-related expenses. The award may cover<br />

up to 45.0 semester or 67.0 quarter credit hours<br />

per academic year. A 3.0 cumulative GPA is<br />

required for renewal of the award each year. If a<br />

student receiving the award fails to achieve a 3.0<br />

GPA but makes a 2.75 or higher, he or she will<br />

automatically be transferred to the Florida Merit<br />

Scholars Award level for the remainder of the<br />

college career.<br />

�� Florida Merit Scholars Award—An award equal to<br />

the amount required to pay 75% of tuition and<br />

fees for up to 45.0 semester or 67.0 quarter credit<br />

hours per year. A 2.75 cumulative GPA is required<br />

for renewal of the award each year.<br />

�� Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award—An<br />

award equal to the amount required to pay 75% of<br />

tuition and fees. This is a two-year scholarship. A<br />

student may use the scholarship for up to 90.0<br />

semester or 135.0 Quarter Credit Hours. However,<br />

a recipient may become eligible to continue<br />

to a four-year degree by transferring to a Merit<br />

Scholars award upon being accepted into an upper<br />

division program and having maintained a<br />

2.75 or higher GPA. A Gold Seal Vocational<br />

Scholar may not transfer to an Academic Scholars<br />

award. A 2.75 cumulative GPA is also required for<br />

renewal of the Gold Seal award each year.<br />

DREAM AWARD PROGRAM AND SCHOLARSHIPS<br />

Graduates of any Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (<strong>CC</strong>i)<br />

school may be nominated for the <strong>CC</strong>i-sponsored<br />

Dream Award program. Scholarship awards must be<br />

used within two years of the award and they are not<br />

transferable nor can they be exchanged for cash.<br />

Campus Dream Award: Each campus will nominate<br />

one recent graduate from the campus to represent<br />

the campus in the award competition. Nominations are<br />

accepted from April 1 to August 1 each year. Selection<br />

of the nominee is based on a review of recent graduates<br />

within the past three years by the Campus Selection<br />

Committee. The selected nominee should be a<br />

graduate whose life story could have gone in any direction,<br />

but whose decision to attend a <strong>CC</strong>i school was<br />

a turning point for them. The selected nominee should<br />

be an inspiration and motivation to other students.<br />

Each Campus Dream Award recipient will receive:<br />

1. A scholarship worth $2,500 that may be used at<br />

any <strong>CC</strong>i campus for training that is more<br />

advanced than the one from which the nominee<br />

has graduated, and<br />

2. a trophy.<br />

Corinthian Dream Award: Following the close of the<br />

nomination period for the Campus Dream Award, the<br />

Corinthian Dream Award recipient will be selected from<br />

the campus nominees by the Corinthian Colleges<br />

Selection Committee, composed of the Executive<br />

2011-2012 <strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong>—<strong>Brandon</strong> Course Catalog 26<br />

Management Team of <strong>CC</strong>i. The award will be given<br />

to the nominee with the most compelling story and<br />

highest level of achievement. The award will be<br />

announced to the winner by the end of August and will<br />

be presented at the October <strong>CC</strong>i Presidents Meeting.<br />

The award will include:<br />

1. A full scholarship that may be used at any <strong>CC</strong>i<br />

campus for training that is more advanced than<br />

the program from which the recipient has<br />

graduated<br />

2. An all-expenses-paid trip to the October<br />

Presidents Meeting<br />

3. A trophy<br />

4. A letter of recognition from the <strong>CC</strong>i CEO and COO<br />

5. A nomination to the Association of Private Sector<br />

Colleges and Universities (APSCU) Great Award<br />

High School Scholarships<br />

<strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong> will make a total of 216 high<br />

school scholarships available to graduating seniors.<br />

Scholarships will be awarded annually. They are not<br />

transferable nor can they be exchanged for cash.<br />

Awards are determined by an independent panel. The<br />

application deadline for high school scholarships is no<br />

later than 30 days prior to the day that the student<br />

plans to commence his/her education. In addition, the<br />

student must apply within six months of graduation<br />

from high school to be eligible. Please review the<br />

current <strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong> Scholarship Guidelines<br />

for further details (including application and testing<br />

deadlines) and conditions of this program. Scholarships<br />

will be awarded in the following circumstances:<br />

Florida High School Principal Scholarships<br />

Each of the campus locations of <strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong> will<br />

award three High School Principal Scholarships of<br />

$2000 each. The principals of participating Florida high<br />

schools are invited to recommend a senior whose<br />

academic achievements and personal career goals<br />

have been recognized and would be enhanced by<br />

scholarship assistance. Recommended seniors must<br />

complete application procedures, provide letters of<br />

recommendation, and take the CPAt. Those who<br />

receive the top scores at each <strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

campus will be invited to submit an essay.<br />

Other High School Scholarships<br />

Each of the campus locations of <strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong> will<br />

award 24 high school scholarships to graduating<br />

seniors, as follows:<br />

�� Eight scholarships valued at $2000 each,<br />

�� Sixteen scholarships valued at $500 each.<br />

High school seniors may obtain scholarship applications<br />

and guidelines from a participating high school<br />

guidance department, or they may call <strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

for an application. Students must fill out the application<br />

completely and provide acceptable letters of<br />

recommendation. All applicants must take the CPAt.<br />

Those who receive the top scores will be invited to<br />

submit an essay. If a recipient chooses not to accept<br />

the award, the next qualified student, as determined by<br />

an independent panel, will receive the scholarship.<br />

<strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong> Annual Scholarships<br />

Each <strong>Everest</strong> <strong>University</strong> campus annually awards<br />

honor scholarships at the end of each fall term. These
