R E G I S T R AT I O NREGISTRATIONLog on to WebSMART to register on the day ofyour appointment or any day thereafter, but not before.When registering through WebSMART, you will beable to enroll in classes at <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong>, <strong>College</strong> of SanMateo and/or Cañada <strong>College</strong>. You must pay your fees atthe time of enrollment to remain registered. You may payyour fees online by credit card or in person by credit card,cash, personal check or money order. You also have theoption to apply for a payment plan and/or apply forFinancial Aid.If you decide not to attend the classes in whichyou enrolled, it is your responsibility to officially withdrawwithin deadlines to avoid penalty grades andfee obligations.WAITLISTS are available for many classes. Pleaseread the information on WebSMART to determine youreligibility for waitlisting.VARIABLE UNITSSome courses are offered for variable units which areearned according to the amount of subject matter thestudent completes during the length of the course.When registering on WebSMART for a variable unitcourse, students may select the number of units they planto complete (click on the Unit field). There will be norefunds for units not earned. Students earning additionalunits will be charged accordingly.PASS/NO PASS GRADE OPTIONSome courses allow students to choose whether theywish to receive a letter grade or a Pass/No Pass (P/NP) forthe course. The choice must be made by the student viaWebSMART registration within the first 30% time period ofthe course. A grade of “P” equals a satisfactory grade. An“NP” equals an unsatisfactory grade. Please be aware ofdegree, certificate and transfer requirements when selectingthis option.SHORT COURSE REGISTRATIONYou may register for any short course prior to the firstday of the class, or until the class fills, whichever occursfirst. Short course registration can be completed usingWebSMART (available through out the semester). If you waitto register until the first day of the course, you must obtainthe instructor’s authorization at the first class meeting.Promptly register using WebSMART entering the CRN(Course Reference Number) and Authorization Code.Note: Refund deadlines for short courses differ fromterm-length courses and are often the date of the first classmeeting. See page 5 for adetailed schedule of late registration dates/hours. If theclass has started, obtain permission from the professor toenroll in any course. If allowed to enroll, you will be issueda 4-digit AUTHORIZATION CODE by your instructor thatwill be required to register along with the CRN (CourseReference Number) by the “Last Day to Add.” All LateRegis tra tion processes, including adds and drops, shouldbe completed using WebSMART. Refund deadlines do notchange as a result of late registration.Print a final copy of allWebSMART transactions(Registration, Drops, Payments) foryour records.Print your Summary ClassSchedule after completing yourregistration.
