Registration InformationDEFINITIONS OF STUDENT <strong>CLASS</strong>IFICATIONSCONTINUING STUDENTSIf you were enrolled at <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong>, <strong>College</strong> of SanMateo or Cañada <strong>College</strong> any semester since Spring2011, you are considered a CONTINUING STUDENT. Asa Continuing Student, you are entitled to participate inPrior ity Registration.You may take advantage of your registration priority asa Continuing Student between November 7-14, 2011 aslong as you have a current Student Educational Plan(SEP) on file that includes Spring 2012 course recommendations.You are strongly encouraged to meet with acounselor for assistance in selecting appropriate coursesto meet your individual goalsNote: CalWORKS, DSPS, EOPS, foster youth, andveteran students receive the earliest priority registrationdate assignments.NEW STUDENTSYou are a new student if you have never registered at<strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong>, <strong>College</strong> of San Mateo or Cañada <strong>College</strong>.• If you were a High School Concurrent Enrollmentstudent and graduated, you are considered a “new”college student. You must reapply for admission.FORMER STUDENTSIf you were in attendance at <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong>, <strong>College</strong>of San Mateo or Cañada <strong>College</strong> prior to Spring 2011 andhave not been in attendance since, you are considered aformer student and must reapply for admission. If youpreviously applied for admission online, update your priorapplication online and resubmit.TRANSFER STUDENTSIf you attended a college or university other than<strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong>, <strong>College</strong> of San Mateo or Cañada <strong>College</strong>,you are a transfer student at <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong> and mustapply for admission. You may be eligible for exemptionsfrom some of the matriculation requirements listed onpage 7. Present your unofficial transcript(s) to a counselorfor review.HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTSHigh School students may be eligible to enroll incollege through the <strong>College</strong> Connections/ConcurrentEnrollment Program. This program allows you to get an“early start” on your college ex per ience while still enrolledin high school. California residents do not pay enrollmentfees for courses. Please visit www.<strong>Skyline</strong><strong>College</strong>.edu/ce/ for registration information and contact your highschool counselor. Enroll ment is subject to the availabilityof courses. Please see page 9 for more information.OPEN ENROLLMENTEvery course offered at <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong> (unless specificallyexempted by legal statute) is open for enrollment byany person who has been admitted to the college andmeets the prerequisites of the course or program, providedspace is available. Enrollment in any course or program,will be subject to all applicable deadlines.REGISTRATION APPOINTMENT NOTICENotification of your registration date will be sent toyou via email to your my.smccd.edu account. TheRegistration Appointment notice contains your appointmentdate and information regarding your PIN (PersonalIdent ification Number). You will be required to enter yourPIN when you register using WebSMART. The registrationappointment date will en title you to register forSpring 2012 classes.
