CARE provides additionalsupport services over those provided by EOPS, such aschild care, transportation assistance, vocational grants,meal tickets, and special workshops designed to meet theneeds of CARE students.The CARE office is located in Building 2. Students are encouragedto stop by and take advantage of the variety of careerservices, or call (650) 738-4337 for more information.Comprehensive career information is also posted onthe center’s web page at www.<strong>Skyline</strong><strong>College</strong>.edu/general/careercenter/index.html.CHILD CARE SERVICESThe <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong> Child Development Center (CDC)is a laboratory program that provides a comprehensivechild care and early education program for students, staffand faculty of <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong> and community members.The program provides the following services for childrentwo (2) years of age until entry into kindergarten: childcare and early education experiences from 7:30 am to5:00 pm during the regular academic calendar, threenutritious daily meals, observation and assessment ofchildren’s typical development, resources and referrals fora wide variety of supports for children and families, parentinformation and workshops on topics relevant to familieswith young children, and home visits/conferences todiscuss children’s development and school readinessskills. The <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong> CDC is partially funded by theCalifornia Department of Education and income eligiblefamilies may receive child care subsidies. For more information,call (650) 738-7071.COUNSELING SERVICESThe Counseling Division at <strong>Skyline</strong> <strong>College</strong> isdesigned to assist individuals in all aspects of their developmentas students and help them accomplish theirgoals. Career and educational counseling are emphasized.A counselor can help students establish both shortand long range goals and provide them with informationabout courses and programs that transfer to four-yearcolleges and universities. Counselors assist students indeveloping an individual Student Educational Plan (SEP),which maps out courses that will be taken over a numberof semesters and serves as a guide to achieving goals.126 w w w.
