Brief introduction about the1 st <strong>Arab</strong> <strong>World</strong> conference on public health• The theme of the conference “Towards Excellence in Public Health:Opportunities and Challenges” will offer options for <strong>Arab</strong> Countries toachieve the MDGs by 2015.• The conference will be held in Dubai 4 – 6 April 2013• Jointly organized and hosted by:– Dubai Health Authority (DHA)– <strong>World</strong> Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA)2

Summary of the <strong>Conference</strong>• Approximately 400 – 600 Delegates from <strong>Arab</strong> countries andaround the world are expected to take part in this event:• Public health professionals• Policy makers• Academics and Scientists• Educators and programmers• Students3

ObjectivesThe conference will:1. Serve as a regional forum for exchange of knowledge andexperiences on key public Health issues in the <strong>Arab</strong> countries.2. Contribute towards promoting and protecting public health at regionaland national levels.3. Create a better understanding and discussion of the <strong>Arab</strong> worldmajor public health challenges within the global public healthcommunity.4. Facilitate and support the development of the <strong>Arab</strong> <strong>World</strong> PublicHealth Association (AWPHA)4
