First Day CancellationOn 2 October 2009, special first day hand-cancellations for the New York definitivestamp will be available at <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> Headquarters in New York; the Palais des<strong>Nations</strong>, Geneva; and the Vienna International Centre. The New York hand-cancellationis illustrated below:Souvenir CardA New York souvenir card on the theme “International Day of Non-Violence” will beissued on 2 October 2009. The card depicts a picture of Mahatma Ghandi and the new$1.00 definitive stamp. The card carries a statement by BAN Ki-moon, the Secretary-General of the <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong>, and by S. M. Krishna, Minister for External Affairs of India.A quantity of 15,000 cards were printed in offset by CRW Graphics. The souvenircard measures 8 inches horizontally by 6 inches vertically (203 mm x 152 mm). The NewYork souvenir card is available in cancelled condition and will be available for a period ofthree months while supplies last. Please note that the souvenir card will not be sent tostanding order customers.
