In 2007, the first annual joint conference of the LDAAnnual Session and the New Orleans DentalConference was a huge success, thanks largely to thehard work of the conference committee and so manyother members. I am pleased to report that the LDAreceived over $63,000 in non-dues revenue as its shareof profit from this event. Since many conferencespeakers gave up their honorariums in 2007 to helpour state’s continuing hurricane recovery efforts, it maybe awhile before a windfall of that magnitude reoccurs.Still, the 2008 conference should also prove to be verysuccessful as final preparations are under way.
