LDAJeffrei Clifton, LDA Interngame day seminarAttendees Mix Business with Pleasure at theLDA Fall Game Day SeminarDentists from all over the state descended uponBaton Rouge for the LDA Game Day Seminar onSaturday, November 10, 2007, to mix business withpleasure. An educational C.E. presentation by Dr.Frank Higginbottom and a festive Tiger tailgate partybefore LSU’s homecoming game against the LA TechBulldogs provided the day’s entertainment.Over 60 participants registered to attend the C.E.seminar sponsored by Straumann and the LDACouncil on the New Dentist at the Sheraton BatonRouge Convention Center Hotel. Before the seminarbegan, the LDA recognized Robert Ellis and Associatesas an LDA Event Partner. With this yearlongpartnership worth $10,000, Robert Ellis andAssociates will be partnering with the LDA to host allof the LDA’s C.E. seminars and help the LDA inkeeping C.E. costs down for its members.Dr. Higginbottom’s dynamic presentation “TheTeam Approach to Immediate Loading in the EstheticZone (Advanced and Complex)” focused on teamcommunication in the planning and insertion ofimplants in the esthetic zone. He also covered a varietyof topics including communications between teammembers and patients, use of 3-D perspectives,implant and restorative component options andchoices and clinical methods that are currentlyavailable to patients. Dr. Higginbottom’s presentationproved to be highly informative and piqued manyregistrants’ interest in implant procedures.After the seminar, attendees headed over to theLDA tailgate party, sponsored by Sullivan ScheinDental and Benco Dental, under the shadows of TigerStadium where a traditional tailgating buffet waswaiting. Burgers, hot dogs, jambalaya, soft drinks andcold beer were just a few of the palate pleasing itemson the menu.More than 60 attendees enjoyed Dr. Frank Higgin bottom’s dynamic C.E.lecture on “The Team Approach to Immediate Loading in the EstheticZone.”And, the LSU Tiger Girls were our special gueststhanks to Robert Ellis and Associates. The Tiger Girlsautographed photos, took pictures with attendees andperformed LSU cheers. Tailgaters mingled with theTiger Girls and reunited with peers and classmates asanticipation for the game increased.When the party began winding down, attendeesventured to their favorite spots to watch the LSUTigers dominate the LA Tech Bulldogs in an easy 58-10 victory.“What a great opportunity to get C.E. credits with aseminar in the morning and tailgating in theafternoon. The weather was perfect, the food was hotand the beer was cold.
