Radio-diagnostic Imaging ServicesBasic radio-diagnostic procedures can be provided as part of the Specialty Clinic service andshall meet the DHA radiology services requirement and criteria of including RadiationProtection license. Basic radio-diagnostic procedures shall be provided by DHA licensedradiographer.10. Facilities & Equipments11.1 Facility Physical EnvironmentThe facility should be clean and properly maintained and have adequate lighting and ventilation.The space allocated for a particular function or service should be adequate for the activitiesperformed. The <strong>Health</strong> Facility Guidelines: Planning, Design Construction and Commissioning,which is available in DHA website www.dha.gov.ae , is adopted by the DHA for evaluatingdesign submissions for new and renovated healthcare facilities in <strong>Dubai</strong>, including SpecialtyClinics. For general specification of the Specialty Clinic see appendix 111.2 Handicapped AccessibilityIn compliance with the federal law number 29 for 2006 regarding Special Needs Rights, eachhealthcare facility shall be made accessible to accommodate disabled individuals. The followinghandicapped requirements are mandatory:Handicapped parking within or near the facility premisesWheelchair ramps within the buildingAccessible physical examination roomHandicapped-accessible rest roomSpecial arrangements shall be made to see patients if the facility cannot be made handicappedaccessible.11.3 Equipments and SafetyList of general medical instruments and equipment required in Specialty Clinics available inappendix 2All equipment used in patient care, testing, or emergency situations should be inspected,maintained, and tested on a regular basis and according to manufacturers’ specifications. Thefacility should have appropriate fire-fighting equipment, signage, emergency power capabilities,lighting, and an evacuation plan.The facility should have the necessary personnel, equipment, and procedures to handle medicaland other emergencies that may arise in connection with services provided. Appropriateemergency equipment and supplies should be readily accessible to all patient service areas.Hazards that might lead to slipping, falling, electrical shock, burns, poisoning, or other traumashould be eliminated. The facility must comply with the <strong>Dubai</strong> Municipality (DM) regulationsregarding protection of the health and safety of employees.www.dha.gov.aeDHA hotline 800 342
