Lois Kelsey $22.00
A real departure from the typical peony.
Deeply cut white petals in single or
semidouble form extend from a center that
features contrasting red carpels and yellow
stamens. Together they provide a very
distinctive look in the garden or lend a modern
flare to arrangements. This lactiflora will reach
a height of 34 inches. Kelsey 1934
Requiem $18.00
Understated beauty best describes this early
flowering hybrid. Its creamy single-form flowers
carry a hint of pink, warming the appearance
of the bloom. Petals are almost waxy in substance.
The center of the flower features stamens
with large golden anthers. The 36-inch
stems carry large deep green leaves throughout
the growing season. Saunders 1941
Krinkled White $14.00
This peony gets its name from its singleformed
flowers which feature broad, pure
white petals that have the appearance of
crepe paper. A small tuft of yellow stamins
forms the center. Although the blooms and
34-inch stems have an elegant, delicate appearance
the plant is sturdy and a vigorous
grower. Brand, 1928
Madame de Verneville $16.00
This French cultivar has been enjoyed in gardens
for more than 120 years. Early flowering,
the double white blooms carry a rose-like
fragrance. Flowers are a bomb form that typically
features a yellow glow at the base of the
petals. A cutflower favorite, this peony is very
free-flowering. The 28-inch stems need some
support. Crousse 1885.
New for 2012
Shirley Temple $21.00
A white double that has been a mainstay in the
cut flower trade for many years, especially in
Europe. Its very large, full blooms open with
a blush ahead of most other doubles, and its
sturdy 32 inch stems allow it to stand up well
to the weather. Sidebuds help to extend the
bloom season on this prolific peony.
Laura Dessert $19.00
Blooming in the early midseason, the
anemone-form flowers appear pink in bud,
but as they open the guard petals turn creamy
white. At the center a large tuft of petaloids
open a light lemon-yellow color. Moderately
fragrant peony of medium height and dark
green foliage. Needs no staking.Dessert 1913
New for 2012
Princess Bride $23.00
A pure white bomb-form peony. Large white
back stronger each spring and remain a fixture
in your garden for decades. Foliage is a rich
medium green. Klehm 1998
