Transas data servicesWhen only official data will doTransas data services – chart dataWhen it’s time to deliverOfficial ENC data is the only formatapproved for use in an ECDIS system.It plays a huge role in the reliabilityand accuracy of your system, so receivingchart data from your ECDIS manufacturermeans you benefit in terms of bothoperation and support.Transas Admiralty Data Service (TADS)was developed by Transas in partnershipwith the United Kingdom HydrographicOffice (UKHO). It delivers global chartcoverage in a special pre-packed formatcalled SENC (Transas ECDIS only)or standard ENC format (to all otherECDIS users) with a range of carefullyconsidered additional data services.Transas Admiralty Data Service includes:• Transas SENC Services for the Transasproduct line;• AVCS (ENC) Services for other brandsof ECS, ECDIS and Chart Radar;• Admiralty Digital Publications;• Weather Services;• Admiralty Information Overlay(Temporary and PreliminaryNotices to Mariners);• Admiralty Raster Chart Service;• Piracy Information Overlay;• Port Data.When choosing Transas as your chart data provider, you’ll be advised which chartpurchases are the most cost-effective and the process will be customized specificallyto your needs.The vessel can update charts in four different ways:• Weekly update CDs;• Online downloads from the Transas website;• Tailored datasets automatically provided from Transas chart server;• Onboard Data Server.Pay as you sailWith Transas “Pay As You Sail” the vessel will have licensed access to view and pre-planin official charts at no extra cost. The vessel will only be charged for charts used for actualnavigation monitoring; in other words, best-scaled charts that have been displayed on the screentogether with ships position and symbol or generated navigational alarms.
