The course, which began inOctober 1980, will continue through May <strong>1981</strong>. <strong>Police</strong>officers, inspectors and guest speakers from outside lawenforcement agencies, continue to offer their expertiseto the Cadets in weekly meetings held each Mondaynight at 7 pm. lii the 6th floor auditorium of the Hallof Justice. Any interested high school students are tocall PAL Headquarters for signups. At the request ofOfficer Tom Del Torre, Crime Prevention Division, thebelow listed PAL Cadets volunteered to distribute antiburglaryliterature in high crime rate areas of theSouthern District recently. They are: Cadet SergeantRonald Banta, Cadets Alice Pickens, Richard Harding,Troy Dangerfield, Michael Balich, Gary Paul, JohnKelleher, Reggie Hamilton and Patrick Taylor. He continued hiseducation at <strong>San</strong> <strong>Francisco</strong>' State University and theUniversity of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Francisco</strong> majoring -in. computer,science and accounting. .Tom Bruton joined the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Francisco</strong> <strong>Police</strong> Departmentin 1972 after serving two years as a police cadet.He spent his first five years in the department assignedto Mission Station and he was promoted to Inspector in1977, Sergeant in 1980, and is currently assigned to theAuto Theft Detail.Sgt. Bruton participated in PAL Baseball as a childand began coaching for PAL in 1972. For the past fiveyears he has served as the PAL Basketball, Commissioner.Tom is 30 years old and currently single.On March 12, <strong>1981</strong>, Sgt.
