The kit can be installed by any competentmechanic or dealership technician. When installing any of the Transmission Rebuild Kits, it is requiredthat you have your H-D factory service for your motorcycle available. We have included the BAKERDD6, OD6, and DD5 builder’s kit instructions for additional information on reinstallation of the gearsetcassette.Use your factory service manual to uninstall your gearset. Remove your gearset with trap doorassembly from the transmission case. You will now need to completely disassemble the bearing door,mainshaft and countershaft assemblies. Thoroughly clean and inspect all the parts. Be sure to useassembly oil when installing the bearings on to the shafts. It is also important to never re-use any of thesnap rings. Torque the two ¾-16 jamnuts (pn 37141) to 45-55ft/lbs using red threadlock.Once the gearset is completely rebuilt, re-install the gearset using your BAKER DD6 builder’s kitinstructions.
