This free seriesis presented by the <strong>Garfield</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>Conservatory</strong>, with support fromthe University of Illinois Extension Program’s Master Composters.Topic areas include Basic Composting, Worm Composting,Harvesting and Using Your Compost, Winter Compost Preparationand more. An information cart will be stationed inside the palmhouse if there is inclement weather.

Exploration kits, scavenger hunts,and room rentals are available to groups fora fee. (Rates will vary between student andadult groups.) To ensure a safe and enjoyableexperience for all of our visitors, groups of 10or more people must register before visitingthe <strong>Conservatory</strong>. Activities will include demonstrations of urban beekeeping,composting, rain water harvesting and more. Our new outdoor “UrbanDemonstration Garden” will formally open during Harvest Days.
