It also supports fault tolerant I/O configurations where it isrequired to ensure continued system operation in the event of a fault. Allconfigurations may be used for safety-related applications; the choice between theconfigurations being dependent on the end-user's fault tolerance requirements.The input modules can be configured as a simplex, dual or triple arrangement. Outputmodules can be configured only as a simplex or dual arrangement. All I/O modulesinclude line-monitoring facilities; it is recommended that these line monitoring facilitiesbe enabled for safety-related I/O. For normally de-energized I/O these facilities shall beenabled.Note: Refer to the section "Digital Field Loop Circuits" for details of linemonitoring circuits.Document number 553630 Issue 7: February 2010 5-1
