AADvance Safety ManualTermination assemblies are matched to a specific type of I/O module and haveconnections for up to 16 channels. This provides for 8 channel or 16 channel I/Omodules. The termination assemblies for dual and triple arrangements have channel tochannel isolation. Termination assemblies for simplex input modules and terminationassemblies for simplex and dual output modules are single ended (non-isolated), with acommon return.A 9310 expansion cable assembly connects to the processor base unit to an I/O baseunit. It can also connect two I/O base units together. This is useful for to breaking longruns of interconnected base units and provides some flexibility in the physical layout ofa controller installation.Software Development EnvironmentThe Workbench is a complete software development environment for the controller.It lets you to create local and distributed control applications, and supports sixlanguages for automation: the five languages of IEC 61131-3, together with theFunctional Block Diagram of IEC 61499. Engineers can choose one language or acombination of languages that best suits their knowledge and programming style andthe nature of the application.Control applications can be distributed across several hardware platforms,communicating with each other through networks.The development environment includes tools for documentation, library management,archiving, on-line monitoring, off-line simulation and controlled on-line changes.Programs can be simulated and tested on the computer before downloading to thecontroller hardware.
