Chapter 2 The AADvance SystemThe AADvance controller is built for IEC 61131 compliance, with integral support forall five programming languages. Program access is secured, as is software versioncontrol. Simulation software lets you prove a new application before reprogrammingand downloading, again maximising system uptime. The AADvance controller alsosupports on-line reconfiguration, such as adjustment of input thresholds, withoutnecessitating a process shut downMain ComponentsEach controller is built from a standard range of modules and assemblies, it consists ofa processor module and base units for the processor and for I/O modules which areassembled as follows: A 9110 Processor module is installed into a 9100 processor base unit that can holdup to 3 processor modules. 9300 I/O base units are connected to the processor base unit. Each I/O base unitholds up to three I/O modules and a controller can have up to 8 base units on eachof two I/O busses, giving a total capacity of 48 I/O modules. I/O modules are connected to field devices through matched TerminationAssemblies. The 9110 processor module and 9100 base units are designed for use as a singleprocessor configuration and as dual or triple redundant configurations.A 9300 I/O base units plugs into the 9100 processor base unit and carries theprocessor commands and I/O data across two inter-module communication busses. They also carry the redundant system power from the processor base unit to the I/Omodules.I/O base units also directly plug into each other and are secured and held in place by aclamping arm and retaining clips; hence, a controller becomes a complete mechanicallyand electrically interconnected assembly. Groups of I/O base units can be connected byan expansion cable. The I/O modules are also designed for use in single or redundant configurations. Thepresent range offers the following I/O modules and termination assemblies:I/O MODULES9401 Digital input module, 24V dc, 8 channel9402 Digital input module, 24V dc, 16 channel9431 Analogue input module, 8 channel9432 Analogue input module, 16 channel9451 Digital output module, 24V dc, 8 channel9482 Analogue output module, 24Vdc, 8 channel (to be released soon)TERMINATION ASSEMBLIES9801/2/3 Digital input TA, 16 channel, simplex, dual and TMR9831/2/3 Analogue input TA, 16 channel, simplex, dual and TMR9851/2 Digital output TA, 8 channel, simplex and dual9881/2 Analogue output TA, simplex and dual (to be released soon)Document number 553630 Issue 7: February 2010 2-3
