<strong>For</strong> <strong>Immediate</strong> <strong>Release</strong>Hanif Hassan Opens <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong>-Samsung Hope <strong>for</strong> <strong>Children</strong> Fun FairHis Excellency Dr. Hanif Hassan <strong>Al</strong>i <strong>Al</strong> Qassim, UAE Ministerof Health, opened yesterday morning “Friday 25 th February”the annual fun fair which is organized by <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> <strong>Training</strong>Center <strong>for</strong> <strong>Children</strong> <strong>with</strong> Special Needs under the title “Hope<strong>for</strong> our <strong>Children</strong>” in cooperation <strong>with</strong> Samsung at the center’sheadquarters in <strong>Al</strong> Barsha, Dubai.His Excellency the UAE Minister of Health, said: “TheMinistry of Health encourages all practices that maintainhealthy lifestyles <strong>for</strong> special needs people calling all themembers of the society to provide them <strong>with</strong> the best healthylifestyles and treatment <strong>for</strong> handicapped children to improvetheir health and lives”.His Excellency referred to the societal partnership <strong>with</strong> themembers of the society in achieving the visions of the wiseleadership and strategy of the federal government in raising thestandards of living <strong>for</strong> categories of the society noting that thechildren <strong>with</strong> special needs must have full support in their dailylives according to their needs and requirements.He said: “<strong>Training</strong> and educating children <strong>with</strong> special needs inall fields to be productive members of the society is one of thenoble goals of the center that must be encouraged andsupported; the center is one of the leading centers in the societyas it fulfills their demands and needs”.His Excellency Dr. Hanif Hassan <strong>Al</strong>i, UAE Minister of Healthassures the dissemination of health awareness <strong>for</strong> the children<strong>with</strong> special needs as it leads to societal partnerships andproductive cooperation in the society lauding the ef<strong>for</strong>ts ofschools, families and members of the society in providingeducation and continuous learning and training <strong>for</strong> the children<strong>with</strong> special needs.His Excellency then toured the carnival activities whichincluded games, auditorium activities, per<strong>for</strong>mances by swat28/02/2011HE Minister of Health’s Office


<strong>For</strong> <strong>Immediate</strong> <strong>Release</strong>crew, science show, magic show, camel and pony rides,Painting competition, Charity Bazaar, Henna & Face painting.Currently, the center provides transdisciplinary training programs <strong>for</strong> 270special children from 24 nationalities in addition to teaching, physiotherapy,occupation, therapy, speech and language therapy, psychologists, sports andmusic. <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> also has its own work placement unit which trains children<strong>with</strong> an aptitude <strong>for</strong> open employment.<strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> Annual Fun Fair is enjoyed by over 5000 visitors every year. Theevent is full of interactive and entertaining activities <strong>for</strong> both children andadults. The event targets all ages and includes games, rides, bazaars, quizzes,raffle draws to a variety of food stalls. This year’s event will take place from 10am to 10 pm.It is noted that <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> <strong>Training</strong> Center <strong>for</strong> <strong>Children</strong> <strong>with</strong> Special Needs is anonprofit organization operating under the auspices of the Ministry of SocialAffairs and provides quality professional training to the special needscommunity of Dubai. The center caters to children and youth <strong>with</strong> intellectualand developmental disabilities that may include, but not restricted to, mentalimpairment, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, andother conditions associated <strong>with</strong>in intellectual and developmental disability.Isphana <strong>Al</strong> Khatib, Director of <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> <strong>Training</strong> <strong>Centre</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Children</strong> <strong>with</strong>Special Needs said: “The attendance of H.E. <strong>For</strong> <strong>Immediate</strong> <strong>Release</strong><strong>Al</strong> Khatib stated that <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> Annual Fun Fair is the second fundraising eventof the year. The aim of the event is to raise a substantial amount of funds tocover a part of the running cost of the <strong>Centre</strong> and address the <strong>Centre</strong>’s budgetdeficit.<strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> <strong>Training</strong> <strong>Centre</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Children</strong> <strong>with</strong> Special Needs has <strong>for</strong> the past 29years been providing quality professional training to the special needscommunity of Dubai. They are a nonprofit organization and currently providetraining to 260 children <strong>with</strong> special needs. With a capacity of 300, its purposebuiltfacility has the equipments and requirements to run a holistic programmeaddressing all domains of development.
