S E C T I O N 4TROUBLESHOOTING AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE4.3 Battery Replacement1 The battery compartment is on the bottom ofthe induction/analysis module. Turn the uniton its side to access the battery compartment.Use a flat bladed screwdriver or similartool to lift the battery pack out of itsreceptacle.2 Remove the spent battery from the holder.3 Replace with a 9 volt lithium or alkaline battery(ANSI/NEDA 1604).4 Push the battery pack back into the instrumentuntil the retaining latch engages.5 Dispose of the spent battery according tobattery manufacturer’s instructions and localregulations.NOTE:If the instrument will be unused for anextended time, remove the battery.Batteries can leak and damage terminals ifleft unused for extended periods.37
