Society may accept or reject the qualification of any such ET Technician in its absolute discretionwithout being required to give reason in respect thereof.K. Within 15 days of embryo collection, the owner of the donor mare shall lodge with the Society acertificate countersigned by the Veterinarian or Technician specifying the date on which suchcollection and/or implantation or storage took place. Stored embryos must be transferred to acontainer/s, sealed, separately identified and signed by the owner, or his/her/their appointed agent,of the donor mare and the Veterinarian or Technician who actually effected the flushing of suchembryos and their storage.L. Embryos that have been frozen under the provision of these Rules remain the property of theregistered owner of the donor mare at the time of collection. If sold or otherwise dealt with, suchembryo must be transferred or otherwise dealt with in accordance with these Rules. No progenyborn as a result of the use of embryos the property in which is transferred other than in accordancewith these Rules shall be registered by the Society.M. The owner of any embryo may transfer such embryo only in accordance with these Rules. Theowner of any Embryo that has been sold must lodge with the Society a Certificate of Transfer ofownership of embryo before any implantation takes place or within 21 days of sale of embryo whichever occurs first, and pay the fee set by the Society from time to time. Upon receipt of transfersigned by the owner or his/her/their Agent and the Purchaser and payment of the appropriate feeset by the Society, such transfer will be registered by the Society.N. Within 60 days of Embryo Transfer to a recipient mare taking place, the registered owner of thedonor mare, or when the embryo has been transferred under the Rules, the registered owner of thefrozen embryo, shall lodge with the Society a certificate of positive pregnancy of the recipient maresigned by a Veterinarian or Technician who has personally examined such mare, which must bepositively identified by the Veterinarian on the pregnancy certificate. If such a certificate is notlodged with the Society as foresaid, the progeny born shall not be capable of registration underthese or any other Rules of the Society.O. In the event that the recipient mare fails to become pregnant from Embryo Transfer and theprocedure of collection and transfer of the embryo is repeated, then new certificates of transferand pregnancy (as described in Regulation M and N hereof) shall be provided to the Society inrespect of every repeated procedure.P. All persons holding a Permit under these rules must:i Lodge a report of embryos collected with the Society within 15 days of collection.ii Prepare and maintain an annual report of any embryo held/used/disposed of in accordancewith the form prescribed by the Society from time to time. It must specify whether such embryowas used by means of fresh or frozen. The report must also specify any embryo held or disposedof, the name of the storage centre and be signed by the Permit holder or his agent (storagecentre).iii Such forms, duly completed in accordance with these rules must be returned to the Society by31st July each year and unless the Society has received such a form in which the details of suchembryos held/used/disposed of have been recorded in accordance with these Rules, no foal that isborn and subsequently sought to be registered by such service shall be registered by the Society.Q. Foals born to ET must be DNA Profiled according to Society requirements and identified by aVeterinarian on an ET Application for Registration form lodged with the Society by the 31st July inthe foaling year. The registration of the foal will only be accepted if no DNA Profiling exclusionoccurs when comparison is effected with the sire and donor mare.R. ET progeny born under these Rules will be identified as such in the Society’s Stud Book.S. The owner of an embryo which is to be exported from Australia shall at least one month prior toits export, notify the Society on the prescribed form of the intention to export such embryo and payto the Society the fee prescribed from time to time by the Committee of Management for lodging ofsuch form; upon completion of required documentation an ET Export Certificate will be issued.T. Where a registered stallion or registered donor mare is used in an ET program to produce PartWelsh progeny regulations governing use of ET in pure bred stock must be complied with, subjectto the following rules.i In the case of the use of a stallion not eligible for registration with the Society and intended tobe used under these Rules to produce Part Welsh progeny, such stallion must be currently adultregistered with a body approved by the Society and documentary evidence of its identity andevidence of compliance with such body’s ET rules (if any) must be supplied to the Society with theapplication to register the progeny. Should the body with which the stallion has been registeredhave no rules as to the collection and use of ET or where, in the opinion of the Society, such rulesare not of a standard that will ensure that any progeny to be registered will be sufficiently identifiedas having been born by such procedures, then the Society shall not be required to register suchprogeny.ii In the case of a donor mare not eligible for registration with the Society and intended to beused under these Rules to produce Part Welsh progeny, such donor mare must be currently adultregistered with a body approved by the Society and documentary evidence of its identity andevidence of its compliance with such body’s ET rules (if any) must be supplied to the Society withthe application to register the progeny.
