VULNERABLE TARGETSREFERRAL CENTREBackgroundIn 2006 UN General assembly adopted a global counter Terrorism Strategywhich reaffirms the international community’s resolve to strengthen the globalresponse to terrorismIn return <strong>INTERPOL</strong>’s General assembly in 2007 adopted the creation ofVulnerable Target Referral Centre in Interpol Headquarters in partnership withUN entities .The Role of VTRCThrough the VTRC <strong>INTERPOL</strong> will act as an intermediary ,facilitating theexchange of information in the area of Vulnerable Target protection .The main objective is to identify the responsible units and relevant experts incountries where protection of Vulnerable Targets are implemented this iscrucial in exchanging or expertise and best practices amongst countries .
