Florida Supreme Court disciplines
lawyers in Tampa, Sarasota
Two Tampa Bay area lawyers are among 22 recently
disciplined by the Florida Supreme Court .
David Nathan Finkelstein, a Sarasota lawyer, was
suspended for 20 days and will be on probation for one
year after reinstatement, the Florida Bar said in a
written statement.
He was accused of engaging in a pattern of
misconduct including neglect, lack of diligence and
lack of communication with clients. Finkelstein also
was accused of failing to use proper trust accounting
procedures.
Tampa lawyer Anett Lopez was suspended for 10
days. She notarized a client's family law pleadings in
the client's absence and misapplied funds for
payments of costs from the client, the release said.
Lopez also was accused of failing to maintain
minimum accounting of her trust account.
