Teletilt ® Remote Electrical Downtilt SystemBasic RET SystemThe basic elements of a RET system are the controller and the actuator. The controller sends tiltcommands to the actuators (motors) that are mounted to the bottom of an antenna. The actuatoradjusts the electrical downtilt of an antenna by changing the phase shifter. RET devices, (likeactuators), are connected to the controller using control cables.Multiple actuators can be joined together either by daisy-chaining control cables or by usingjunction boxes.Andrew offers both a portable and a rack mount controller for managing RET devices. Theportable controller conveniently works in conjunction with a laptop for local setup and siteoptimization. Whereas, the rack mount controller can also be controlled locally with a laptop, itis uniquely designed for operating over a network. With the rack mount controller having accessthrough a network, optimization adjustments can be made instantly from an office with virtuallycost-free control.Basic RET SystemAntennaActuatorJunction Box~RET Control CableLightning Protection UnitATC300-1000ControllerorATC200-LITE-USBPortable ControllerCrossoverEthernetCableorNetworkAISG ConnectorAISGUSB(Computer interface not supplied.)64Andrew Wireless Solutions www.andrew.com
