It was apriority to build a bath in each conquered country.Above all, İstanbul coined the phrase “Turkish Bath,”and a bath culture whose fame spread to the wholeworld.Evliya Çelebi states that there were 302 public bathsand 14536 court and mansion baths in the 17 thcentury in İstanbul.Social lives in those baths are told in the works thatwere penned in the following centuries.
