The End Is the BeginningThe 2011 <strong>Drexel</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Medicine</strong> <strong>Commencement</strong> took placeon Friday, May 20, at the Kimmel Centerfor the Performing Arts. Guests andparticipants arriving for the ceremonywove their way around and throughan 81-foot-tall replica <strong>of</strong> the EiffelTower (installed for the PhiladelphiaInternational Festival <strong>of</strong> the Arts), aspectacular sight that lent a newdimension to this year’s photographs.U.S. Surgeon General Regina M.Benjamin, M.D., delivered the<strong>Commencement</strong> address, “Makinga Difference.” The <strong>College</strong> bestowedupon her the honorary degree <strong>of</strong>Doctor <strong>of</strong> Science, for her promotion<strong>of</strong> preventive medicine and herservice to the nation.
