Getting to Know Your Breville Variable Temperature KettleVariable temperature controlThe variable electronic control panel offers five differentCelsius temperatures for optimal tea and coffee brewing;80°, 85°, 90°, 95° and 100°C.Optimal brewingTea varieties are grown and produced in differentenvironments and require specific water temperatures toallow their unique flavour and aroma to develop duringbrewing. To bring out the optimal quality and taste of moredelicate tea leaves, a lower temperature will produce abetter flavoured cup of tea. For example, steeping green, white or oolong teas in boiling water may scald the tealeaves and result in a bitter, astringent brew.Brewing the tea for too long may also result in a bitter, unpleasant taste, while brewing for too short a periodmay leave the tea bland. For best results always followthe specific directions on the tea/coffee packet. To bring out the optimal taste and quality of your favouritetea or coffee, we recommend that you use your VariableTemperature Kettle at the suggested temperature foryour selected tea or coffee. The table below provides a guide to a range of tea andcoffee varieties and the recommended temperature toselect using your set temp button.NOTEThis product is not calibrated for commercial orscientific use.Temperatures may vary +/-5 degrees, being within range for optimal brewing for each typeof tea or coffee.Keep warm functionTo activate the KEEP WARM function, first press thedesired water temperature by pressing the set tempbutton and select one of the five options on the LEDpanel. Then press the KEEP WARM button, followed by theSTART/CANCEL button to commence heating the water.Alternatively, the KEEP WARM button can be activatedwithin one minute after the heating cycle has completed. When the water has reached the selected Celsiustemperature, the KEEP WARM function will holdthe selected temperature for 20 minutes.
