Centers of ExcellenceCenter for Women and Financial ServicesThe State Farm Center for Women and Financial Services has accomplished manyexciting objectives since receiving its visionary $2.8 million gift from State Farmin early 2011. The Center Director, Mary Quist-Newins, CFP ® , CLU ® , ChFC ® , hashired staff, established an advisory board consisting of thought-leaders from theindustry, academia and media, and launched the Center’s content-rich website.The Center celebrated the academic achievements of women in financial servicesby co-sponsoring the inaugural “Women of The American College: Leadershipthrough Learning” recognition breakfast at the Knowledge Summit in Las Vegas inJune 2011. The Center’s next event is the Women’s Leadership Academy Summit,taking place February 23-24, 2012 in Grapevine, Texas. The Summit will featuredynamic speakers, academically rigorous content, community building, workshopsessions, a panel discussion on leadership best practices, and CE credits toward aCLF ® designation.Quist-Newins promotes awareness of women’s issues within the industry byspeaking at events for State Farm, NAIFA, Financial Planning Association,Women in Insurance and Financial Services, and the Conference for AfricanAmerican Financial Professionals.
