The program gives professorsand designers the opportunity to judge their courses againstproven educational practices. Participants perform a selfevaluationof their own course, as well as receive detailedfeedback from colleagues in the online education community.The College’s Investments course was assessed on threemain areas: course design, interaction and collaboration, andassessment. In addition to being recognized for educationaleffectiveness in these three rubric components, the coursereceived accolades for the active and engaging studymaterials provided to students. Dr. Woerheide’s videolectures on learning objectives have become an integralpart of helping students achieve success in this course.Also applauded was the extensive learner support system,which includes comprehensive FAQs on the student assistancewebsite, support email inboxes that are monitored ona consistent basis, a live chat feature, and faculty support inthe discussion forums.“The Blackboard Catalyst Award is a huge honor that isboth appreciated and gratifying!” said Dr. Woerheide.“The American College is proud that an industry-leadingorganization such as Blackboard has confirmed ourcommitment and approach to providing the most up-to-dateeducational methods in the nation.
