COUNCIL MINUTESTUESDAY 26 JUNE 2012CR12.792012/2013 REVIEW OF FEES AND CHARGES - BOLD PARK AQUATICCENTREPURPOSE OF REPORT:To review the current fee structure for entry, programs and services at the Bold Park AquaticCentre.BACKGROUND:Each year, as part of the budgetary process, the fees and charges are reviewed and the mostappropriate time to set these fees is prior to adopting the annual budget so that new fees canbe reflected in the revenue items.Current fees and charges for the centre remain competitive with the market. In general terms,it is accepted that fees and charges change to coincide with the Perth Consumer Price Index(CPI); these historically have been 3% - 4%.Although the CPI (Perth) movements for the period March 2011 to March 2012 was 1.9% it isrecommended to increase the fees and charges in relation to the Bold Park Aquatic Centre inthe forthcoming financial year by approximately 4%. This can be justified as it takes intoconsideration the increases in staff wages, utilities, maintenance costs and other competitorprices.The report will discuss the following:-1. Financial performance and patronage for previous eleven years.2. Illustration of competitive fees and charges.3. Justification for fees and charges.4. Organised program, lane hire and service charges.DETAILS:1.
