Summary: Involuntary servitude prosecution of Kuwaiti couple living outside Boston based on
their enslavement of a Sri Lankan born woman who lived in their home. Case involved then new
testimony on a condition equivalent to battered woman's syndrome to answer potential defenses
regarding why victim did not flee from her captors. Talal Alzanki was convicted and served a
year in prison. I handled case from investigation, through the trial and appeal (argued by cocounsel
on appeal).
