3 Get started3.2.3. Connecting a PC to the service port3.2.3. Connecting a PC to the service portNOTE!The service port shall only be used for direct connection to a PC as described in thisprocedure. It must not be connected to a LAN (local area network), since it has a DHCP serverthat automatically distributes IP addresses to all units connected to the LAN. Contact yournetwork administrator if you need more information.CAUTION!When a cable is connected to the service port on the Control Module front and the servicehatch is opened, the controller will not comply with the requirements of protection class IP54.PortsThe illustration below shows the two main ports on the computer unit: the Service Port andthe LAN port.
