<strong>District</strong> Operations and Associated Financial Effectivenessconsistent among all program specialists and within all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> schools to improvedistrict‐to‐school communications, as well as school‐to‐parent communications.• Update program specialist position job specifications to reflect <strong>the</strong> primaryresponsibilities <strong>of</strong> compliance, technical assistance, and embedded staffdevelopment for administrators, special education teachers, and school‐basedteams.• Reclassify <strong>the</strong> current occupational <strong>the</strong>rapy/physical <strong>the</strong>rapy manager position torelated services manager position.• Create three direct reports to <strong>the</strong> proposed Director <strong>of</strong> Special Education position:one related services manager position; one lead behavior management specialistposition; and <strong>the</strong> parent liaison position.• Assign school psychologists to <strong>the</strong> Office <strong>of</strong> Student Services.• Assign <strong>the</strong> transportation secretary position to <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Transportationwith continued job duties on special education transportation.• Assign <strong>the</strong> management information services position to <strong>the</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> Technologyand Information Services with continued job duties regarding student managements<strong>of</strong>tware and special education reporting.• Assign <strong>the</strong> student management s<strong>of</strong>tware Help Desk positions to <strong>the</strong> Director <strong>of</strong>Technology and Information Services. Once <strong>the</strong> student management s<strong>of</strong>twaresystem is appropriately implemented and schools are in a cycle <strong>of</strong> appropriatecompliance with timelines, <strong>the</strong> district might reassess <strong>the</strong> need for three Help Deskpositions.• Review <strong>the</strong> organizational structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Office <strong>of</strong> Student Services and realign jobfunctions consistent with <strong>the</strong> Office <strong>of</strong> Special Education and proposed relocation to<strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Curriculum and Instruction.The proposed organizational structure is shown in Exhibit 2‐9. These proposed changes willstreamline <strong>the</strong> administrative structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> central <strong>of</strong>fice, create greater accountability,technical assistance and support in <strong>the</strong> schools, and better align special education andgeneral education at <strong>the</strong> central <strong>of</strong>fice and <strong>the</strong> schools. The Office <strong>of</strong> Student Services is notincluded in this proposed organizational structure and should be reviewed for alignmentwith <strong>the</strong> proposed organizational considerations.MGT <strong>of</strong> America, Inc.
