Policies, Procedures, and ComplianceA review of student suspension data shows that there were 557 elementary suspensions or386 students in 2008‐09. The schools that documented the greatest number of elementarysuspensions include Bel Air, El Monte, Rio Vista, Shore Acres, and Sunrise.Exhibit 4‐9 shows the high school suspensions by ethnicity. These data indicatedisproportionate suspension rates for students who are African American at all schools andstudents who are Hispanic at all high schools with the exception of MDHS.EXHIBIT 4‐9MT.
