As we know, Sir, inthe 11 th Plan power generation in this infrastructure sector was targetedat 78,000 MW. Sir, report comes that 11 th Plan is to be completed in2012 and only 50 per cent of the target is completed which is by thepublic sector generation companies. May I know from the hon. Ministeras to what is the present status of it? Is it possible that beforecompleting the 11 th Plan in 2012 full capacity or full targeted generationpower will be completed?SHRI PRANAB MUKHERJEE: Mr. Chairman, Sir, I am afraid it may notbe possible to reach the target of 78,000 MW's addition to the existingpower generation capacity. Though the Mid-Term Appraisal has notbeen finalised, but from the information which we are having, it appearsthat, of course, they have lowered the target from 78,000 MW to 62,000MW. We are trying to reach that target, but after the Mid-TermAppraisal of the Plan being completed, then it would be possible toarrive at the firm figure.SHRI MOINUL HASSAN: Sir, from the table which is supplied as ananswer I can see that the investment in gas infrastructure happens to bethe least though the inter-eastern region and also the major part of thesouthern region is starved of gas supply. Kindly let me know what theprogress of the Jagdishpur-Haldia Pipeline is which is aimed to connectthe eastern region with gas supply channel?
