Playing in Patch ModeKnob Part SelectSelects the part that will be controlled by the realtime control knobs.Value: KBD, PADD Beam (Pad Trigger)Instead of striking the pads themselves, you can also use the D Beamcontroller to control the sounding of the pads.Assigning a Parameter to aControllerHere’s how to specify the parameter that will be affected when youoperate a controller.PAD trigger settings are saved independently for eachperformance as part of the performance settings. This lets youcreate performances that make effective use of controllersettings.fig.05-018_501. Press [PATCH/RHYTHM] to access the Patch Play screen.2. Press [F4 (Ctrl Setting)].fig.05-017_50For details on these settings, refer to “Assigning a Parameterto a Controller” (p. 48).3. Press [F1 (⇑)] or [F2 (⇓)] to select the parameter.4. Use [CURSOR] to move the cursor to the parameter.5. Either turn the VALUE dial or use [INC][DEC] to set thevalue.6. If you want to keep the settings, press [F8 (System Write)].When Patch mode is selected, controller settings cannot besaved for each individual patch. Controller settings are saved assystem settings.7. When you have finished making settings, press [EXIT] toreturn to the Patch Play screen.You can jump directly to various setting screens by holdingdown the [SHIFT] and operating the following buttons orknobs.• Button at the right of the realtime control knobs• Assignable switchPad NumberSpecifies the pad number affected by the D Beam.When the cursor is located at this parameter, you can also make thissetting by striking the desired pad.Value: 0–16Pad VelocitySpecifies the strength of the pad sound played by the D Beamcontroller.Value: 1–127Pad Control ModeThis specifies how the D Beam will behave when it is obstructed. Ifthis is set to MOMENTARY, the parameter will be on only while theD Beam is obstructed, and will turn off when you stop obstructing it.If this is set to LATCH, the parameter will alternately be switchedon/off each time you obstruct the D Beam.Value: MOMENTARY, LATCH48
