Various Performance FeaturesVelocity/AftertouchThe force with which you play the keyboard, or the “velocity” with which you play, can affectthe volume or timbre of a sound. Aftertouch—downward pressure you apply to a key afterplaying a note—can also affect the sound.fig.02-008For details on the setting, referto p. 226.There are two types ofaftertouch: PolyphonicAftertouch, which appliesaftertouch to individual notes, and Channel Aftertouch, which applies aftertouch to anentire MIDI channel (p. 193).The Fantom-X can output theMIDI data for PolyphonicAftertouch using the pads, andChannel Aftertouch using thekeyboard.Pitch Bend/Modulation LeverWhile playing the keyboard, move the lever to the left to lower the pitch of the currentlyselected patch, or to the right to raise its pitch.
